so yesterday, when walking to the train, an unusual sight walked by.  a woman, mid 50's, wearing a flowy purple dress - very purple - with a bright red hat - very red and flowy and feathery - with red high-heeled sneakers crossing the street.

ok, strange enough in itself.  until this morning.

heading up the street towards lexington avenue, a gaggle is spotted in bright colors.  upon getting closer, it was discovered to be an entire crew of purple dresses Fastin with no prescription, and bright red hats - a slighty odd look, i must say.  (and where is the camera when you need it?)

so the moment i arrived at work, fastin with no prescription to google i go to try to figure this out.  'red hat purple Fastin with no prescription - dresses' brings up a bunch of stores all set to satisfy the needs of people buying red hats and purple dresses.  so clearly this is a thing.

ah ha!  the answer.  The Red Hat Society.  and ... here we go ... it's the big apple birthday bash in new york this week.  well, that explains it.  who knew?
